This past weekend, my parents treated the hubby and I to: A Weekend To Remember by Family Life. It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I'm still feeling renewed and refreshed not only in my marriage but with God. (They do a GREAT job of filling both of those needs!)
Anywho... as I was reading Jesus Calling (Devotions for Every Day of the Year), this spoke to me today (pieces of today's devotion):
"Abundant life is not necessarily health and wealth; it is living a continual dependence on ME." OK... the wealth thing is a no brainer - we all know that life isn't about wealth (money). However, I am always so thankful for the health of my family and friends. I get mad when health doesn't go right for those I care about. However, He reminded me today that life isn't about health either - it's about Him.
Today, Scott's grandma past away (and let me just tell ya - she was one of the neatest, funnest, spunkiest, cutest, most faithful ladies I knew). As sad as it is that she passed, she lived a life FOR Jesus. She could NOT wait to get to heaven. She had been saying that she was ready for years! She lived her life according to that quote above - money and health didn't matter to her. Jesus did. I can't even begin to imagine the smile on her face when she met Jesus today. My heart swells at the thought of the pure happiness and peacefulness she has found today.
