An Event Filled Weekend to Remember!

Nathan and I had to top off the rest of our weekend with more fun activities. Saturday we watched Hailey's soccer game, ate at McDonald's for lunch, headed out to Jolly Lane Greenhouse for a super fun time and then hit the movies. Let me just say that first of all, McDonald's really hit the spot (haven't had it in awhile) and second of all, Jolly Lane throws a GREAT fall event! They had a horse drawn hayride, a ton of fall decor set up to take super cute pictures, we toasted marshmallows on the camp fire, had hot chocolate, and apples. It was so festive! The weather cooperated perfectly as it was cool and overcast.

We topped off the afternoon with the "Nancy Drew" movie. It had started to sprinkle and was cozy warm inside the theatre with the best popcorn ever sitting between the two of us. The movie was really good. We both liked it a ton! After that, we needed to get one more thing to make Peter Pan complete...headed home to the ever-so-lonely abandoned pups, made sausage and hash browns (a totally calorie free day) for supper and hit the hay from exhaustion!

On Sunday, we slept in...unfortunately missed church, but enjoyed a nice relaxing morning before the day got busy again! We headed to the Journey Museum for a ghost town event that they were hosting. After a fun scavenger hunt (in this super nice museum that we've never been to before) we got to make a ghost town of our own out of fun stuff like: paper bags, wood chips, hay, pipe cleaners, beads, cotton, etc. It was so neat to see how each child made their special creation. After that we headed to church for their Halloween party which also included a hayride. We ran into several "Wednesday" school classmates and some friends as well.
At the end of the party our female pastor got to throw a pie at our male pastor. All the money went to a charity - I think the humane society (I'm all over that)...and was super fun to watch. After we got home, each of us went to our rooms and watched our own movie. This came about because I was looking for a family movie to watch together on TV and found out that the "Wedding Planner" had just started. So, Nathan watched "Hook" while I drooled and drooled over Matthew McConaughey. I forgot just how much I love that movie.

So, all in all...I'm still tired. Scott's still gone. A lot of fun memories were made this weekend, which made the busyness of the weekend so worth every minute!

By the way, we totally missed out on the dog show that was held at the Civic Center! Darn it...we'll have to catch that one next year - I've heard it was GREAT!
