Today:
* Reminded us how quickly life can change.
* Showed us how truly lucky we are.
* Showed God's grace through and through.
* Taught us to be more aware when we are driving with distractions including cell phones.
* We are more than grateful we are still a family of 6 (3 people/3 pups).
* Opened our eyes to the precious time we have here on earth.
You see, Scott was on a business trip Tuesday in a town about three hours from here. He rode with another insurance agent. They were driving home today and just as I was having a very normal day, theirs turned upside down.
A crane (the bird kind) was standing on the highway and they had to slow to about 10 mph to avoid hitting the crane. But another agent (following them home) behind them was putting his cell phone on the passenger seat and ran into them going 70 mph.
Everyone is OK. No broken bones. No hospital visits. Just cuts, bruises, and major stiffness.
Scott was the passenger in the blazer that went through the highway, where miraculously there was no on-coming traffic, and ended up in the ditch withOUT rolling. The other vehicle (a car) ended up in the opposite ditch withOUT rolling. The blazer that Scott was in had the front end of the other car stuck under their Blazer in the opposite ditch.
Both vehicles involved are totaled.
The cops assured them that their seat belts saved their lives. All three of them are home with their families tonight.
I can't stop thinking how thankful I am to be sitting here typing the GOOD news. Not planning a funeral. Or telling my son that his daddy went to heaven.
Thank you DEAR God for keeping them safe. The seat belts might be the obvious reason that all three of those men are alive, but we know the REAL reason. Thank YOU!

man, tears already at 8:30am! so glad you are all safe and sound. scary to think the life "we have planned" can change in the blink of an eye.
The crane was a bird?!?!?! That wasn't the story I've been telling! No wonder Scott thought I was nuts!
So thankful everyone is okay. Can't quit thinking about it. :(
Amen! Amen! Amen!!! Wow, how scary . . . and what a great reminder of how precious each day is. Love you guys!
WOW!
Thank you God for protecting them & thank them for being smart enough to wear their seat belts!! I get so angry when I am in the car with grown-ups that don't think they need to wear their seat belt!!
Give Scotty boy an extra hug from me tonight - won't he think that is funny!
