First Day Of Summer

It was a good one. It went so fast. Too fast. And it felt just as busy as any other day!

We headed to OMD Farm with some good friends. We stayed ALL afternoon! It flew by like minutes!! I wasn't sure if Nathan would enjoy it as much as years past but I was wrong. He still likes it! Yeah!

His favorite (like every year) were the baby chicks. This year they had baby ducks and baby turkeys too. And although the baby ducks were super cute, they felt SO different than the chicks and turkeys. Almost like they were wet or something. Maybe they were. Maybe each one peed on my as I held them. Or maybe. Just maybe... it was their webbed feet. They weren't near as cuddly either. They didn't fall asleep in our hands EVER. In fact you could barely hold them longer than a second!

Insert off the wall question: Do turkeys have a different name when they are babies? I would have no clue - born and raised a city girl. Juuuussssst curious!

My favorite -- the bunnies. Do we need one? I'd say probably not with all the dogs and all... but they were fun! We kept feeding them dandelions and they couldn't get enough of them!

Insert off the wall question #2: What the heck kind of chicken is this? (Still a city girl trying to be a country girl in my little neck of the forest.)Is this the kind that down pillows and comforters are made from because it looks SO soft????!!!!!! Weird. But soft.

After that we headed back to town for ICE CREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

Then... pictures for baseball.

And then home for a VERY late supper.

I must have tuckered Nathan out because as I was reading to him before bed, he fell asleep. That NEVER EVER happens! NEVER! EVER!

P.S. OMD Farm was one thing we can check off of his summer "wish/want to do" list. On Saturday, we finally got him a tire swing. That would be #2 off his wish list! We're off to a super good start! Now if only we can keep it up!

That looks like so much fun. I wish all kids could experience that. I think your kids are off to a fun start!
