Recovery Mode

Well surgery came and went on Tuesday. But the "effects" have been lasting WAY longer than I anticipated. It has been super slow going and quite painful to say the least. I have left my bedroom ONE time in the last 73 hours. That was to go down and get a drink because it was the one and only time I was alone. Other than that it's been me, the bedroom, and the bathroom hand in hand the whole way.

Luckily I've had a great team of help starting with my parents! Scott has been playing the role of Mr. Mom quite well. And, Nathan - he just goes with the flow. He's been amazingly good. He loved the extra attention that g-ma and g-pa gave him.

Anyway, surgery went well - I guess. It was twice as long as any of the similar surgery's in the past. They removed a cyst larger than a softball, removed endometriosis, and lots of scar tissue. Hopefully I'm a new "cleaned out" woman! I had to have four incisisions instead of two and the recovery time has more than doubled from the past.

I am proud to say that I did take a shower last night. It felt good but completely wore me out! I'm also able to get up and down on my own now - which is major!

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes by phone, cards, flowers, or e-mails! They mean so very much!

Today we're experiencing a winter blizzard in full force. Hopefully this is the last one before summer begins. I guess we won't have spring. School would have been cancelled here but there wasn't any today because of in-service. However, everything else is closed. Places that NEVER close are closed. The wind is howling around us like crazy. I can't see out my bedroom patio doors - they are completely covered with snow - from top to bottom. Crazy.

Happy snow-filled Friday!
