Attention: Don't Eat While Reading This Post...

Seriously. Don't eat. You may not even want to read.

My punkin is sick, sick, sick.

It all started when he woke up sometime between 10 and 11 last night. I was glued to my computer (as usual) and he was sleeping peacefully by my side (dad was gone for meetings). When all of a sudden he jumped out of bed and headed out of our room. I knew instantly that he was going to be sick. I thought he was going to his own bathroom instead of ours. I quickly tried to get untangled from the covers and pillows without dropping my beloved laptop. I chased after him...but he headed downstairs to the main level where I found him ready to lean over the couch like it was a toilet. I'm yelling frantically to not get sick there and to try and get to the bathroom.

Too late.

He didn't get the couch. He turned just in time to get the entire front door, the wall next to it, the coats on the coat rack, the heating vent, the floor, and the entryway rug.

It ALL came out.

Yep, streaks and CHUNKS on everything.

It was bad. Real bad. More stinky than ever before. Disgusting.

My head was whirling - not believing all that happened in just a matter of seconds.

As my mouth hung open and I stared at the mess, he starts walking into the kitchen. I started shouting for him to hit the sink.

Nope.

All over the dishwasher, cupboards, floor and other rug. (We only have two rugs in the whole house and he managed to hit both of them.) Then he somehow woke up, a little, FINALLY and hit the sink.

Sort of.

He got it down those cupboards and all over the suppose-to-be-clean pans drying on the other side of the sink.

Have I mentioned that it was all over him from head to foot too?

After I got him settled, stripped and changed, calmed down, and in bed again.... I began the clean up.

But wait, the dogs had already started.

Mmmmm....Yummy.

Got them locked into the bedroom with Nathan and attempted to clean up all over again. I couldn't get it all cleaned up with rags. Because there was THAT much. I had to get the dry/wet vacuum out.

I cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned some more.

Then I started laundry. Coats included.

By this time, Nathan was getting sick all over again but thankfully in a bucket. This continued until around 5 this morning when he finally got a little rest until the diarrhea kicked in.

I've been spraying Lysol like it's going out of business and will cure him or something.

It STILL reeks in here.

Anyway, the poor little one is sleeping like a rock - poor thing. He's been drinking tons of fluids today so I know he's not dehydrated - Thank God!

Just when I thought I was done cleaning this flu ridden house. I was (again) looking at my computer but this time on the couch. (Nathan was still sleeping.)

Why is my leg wet? I looked down. Oh lovely, Jasper just threw up all over my leg and on the couch that we so luckily missed last night.

Gee, I wonder why he got sick. Could it be that he shouldn't have been eating the sick ICK last night?

Anyway, I ran to the kitchen to get something to clean it up and to take my pants off so it didn't get everywhere else. I headed back into the living room to start a new round of clean up.

Oh look, he puked again on the other end of the couch.

What's that? Why is my sock wet? Oh, because it landed on the floor too and I was stepping in it.

As of RIGHT NOW, the little one is STILL sleeping and everything is cleaned up.

Amazingly and depressingly, none of this has effected my appetite in ANY way. I snacked all day. And to treat myself for the gross cleaning, I had two cokes instead of one. I might even have another one.

I must admit, besides the clean up. It has been very peaceful here today. I totally took the day off too. Not that I'd want it this way if I could choose - it's so hard to see your little one sick. But, at least something good has come out of this ICK...and that's a day off for mama. --well sort of.
