I hemmed Nathan's curtains. I also changed the top of them too.
Before:
I reorganized the boxes and updated their labels in my linen closet.
I ripped a pair of my favorite jeans the other day, so I decided to try my hand at making a sloppy looking patch. It'll allow me to wear them a few more times before I have to say goodbye to them forever! It was kind of fun to work on them! I used the pink fabric (on the big patch) from my scrap room - kinda cool!
I made 2 pillow shams for Nathan's bedroom. Here is one of them. The middle part (white with bungalow) is a piece of a Pottery Barn Kids valance. I bought it super cheap with the intention of someday making pillows out of it.
I forgot how much I really enjoy sewing. I truly love it! Tonight when I was finishing up, I thought back to the day I asked my Grandma Hawkins to teach me to sew. Her and my mom gave me a Sewing 101 course and taught me how to sew a pillowcase for my little pillow that Grandma Hawkins made me when I was a baby. (Yes, I still have it, but I gave it to Nathan as a token of my immeasurable love for him on his first Valentine's Day. That pillow means the world to me - as does he.) Anyway, I think this sewing "class" was only about a year or two before my Grandma passed on to Heaven. I will never forget her or that day. Man, I sure miss her too!
