New Pet!

Remember the saying, "God only gives you what you can handle?" Well, he gave me a BOY and boys, for some unknown and really quirky reason, love bugs. I HATE bugs! And I mean HATE, HATE, HATE! :o) Yesterday, Nathan came IN the house with a grasshopper on his hand. He was so proud of it. He wanted to know if he could keep him as a pet. How could I say no especially being the super big pet lover that I am? So, we found him a house (can) and Nathan put some grass and a little bit of water in it. Then we introduced Hopper (nickname Spotty) to his new home. Nathan really wanted to bring him inside to live, but I definitely drew the line at that point using the excuse that Hopper would definitely like it in the garage way better because they are used to outside temperatures. Nathan carried that can around for at least an hour. Anytime he wasn't holding Hopper or the can, he made sure to check on him quite a bit throughout the day. We had to say goodbye to him a couple of times before we left to do errands and right away when we got home, he had to go check on him and give him some more water. The whole day was filled with cuteness about this ugly grasshopper. And, as God predicted, I'm handling it! (Who would have ever thought that I would have a grasshopper as a pet?!)
