Lackadaisical Week

Oh my gosh... this canNOT possibly be the last week of summer!

NO!

I don't want it to end.

Usually I don't want it to end but I start craving some sort of routine.

NOT this year!

It has went SO fast.

Please... REWIND!

In honor of routines and uncontrolled busyness starting up next week... I decided to have a week of NOTHING planned.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

We have slept in.
We stayed in our pj's until 4:00.
No play dates.
No out of the house activities scheduled.
No camping.
No cleaning.

Notta. Zip. ZERO.

In all honesty... I wanted Nathan to myself.

I wanted to fit in all the things on our summer list in the few short days we have left of summer. BUT he must have been needing some down time more than I thought because we have done nothing all week. And he hasn't complained!

On Monday and Tuesday, we painted and primed his loft bed (his idea). I kept reminding him that it was the most beautiful temperature outside (70 degrees of PERFECT! Last week it was over 100!)... but it didn't change his mind one bit. In fact, he said, "We can feel the fresh air coming in the windows!"

He has spent time building Lego stuff. I spent time in my craft room. (He builds his Lego stuff in my scrap room so I can occasionally help him... and we talk the entire time.)

In the evenings, we either run a few short errands or take the pups on a walk. Then all three of us cuddle in and watch reruns of the Deadliest Catch: Season 1.

I can not express to you enough how awesome this week has been! I hope we do this every single year on the last week of summer!

I just know that come Monday, we will feel refreshed, relaxed, and rejuvenated... ready for 3rd grade and the beginning of college for me!
