Scrapbook Weekend

A few weeks ago I headed to one of my all time favorite places:

Storm Mountain

This is where I go scrapbook for an entire weekend twice a year.

This year I was highly UNmotivated.  Instead of scrapbooking, I made this picture.  I had bought the "box/picture" from Hobby Lobby a year or more ago with the intention of covering up the pink and black perfume bottle that was already on the front of it.  I didn't like the picture but loved the "frame" it was on.

So with a little mod-podge, paper, and adhesive... it transformed into this.  I keep thinking that I should seal over the top of it with mod-podge but we (mod-podge and I) don't have the best relationship so I'm deathly afraid to cover it up for fear that it will all bubble.

Any suggestions?  Or do I just leave as is?

Nice art. It's really cool. A weekend away sounds like fun. I should plan one with my girls.

I have the same bubbling issue with mod-podge, I believe they make spray sealer that may work.

Love it!
You need the roller... can't remember what it is called (starts with a b) and works wonders for bubbles.
Explain a bit more.. did all the stuff come cut out in a kit or did you cut the tree out yourself?

I think Stephanie is refering to a brayer. You roll it over the top of things after you've spread the mod-podge. But I would actually recommend a gloss gel medium or acrylic medium to go over the top. They dry clear & shouldn't bubble up (as long as you don't put it on super thick - you'd be better off doing a couple of thin layers rather than one thick one). The gloss gel medium will give it a nice shine, but it does take a little while to dry and it will show brush marks. So what you use will depend on what kind of finishing effect you want.

That is adorable! Really, you just mod podged it? I don't know why, but that would never even cross my mind. Ha! Looks sooooo cute!
