Who Let the Girls Out?

Shop.    Shop.Shop.   Shop.   Shop.Shop.

('Till we drop.drop.drop.drop.drop.dropped!)

Ahhhhh....

"SO much fun!" doesn't even begin to describe the week we had!

Waking up to Amy's alarm clock (her dad) saying, "Shop.  Shop.  Shop," until we dragged out butts to the pool.

Yep.  The pool.

In March.

And not just any pool.  The most amazing temperature of a pool.  Not too hot.  Not too cold.  You didn't have to swim to stay warm.  We just sat there and talked.  (The picture above is not us.  :o)  We had to wait until these ladies got done with their morning workout.)  One day it rained on us (and it was still warm) but the rest of the time the sun shined on us like a personal gift from above.  The cool of the morning brought just the right amount of steam rolling off the pool as we sat there taking it all in.

Then we'd hit the showers and get ready for a nice lunch.  The food was amazing!  Our favorites were P.F.Chang's and The Cheesecake Factory.  The desert at P.F. Chang's was seriously out of this world good.  And huge!  (This is a pretend picture - the real piece measured approximately 8 inches long by 6 inches deep and wide!)Four of us ate on one piece of cake and the next morning Amy and I finished it off for breakfast!

But back up... on our way back to their RV (after swimming), we'd pick some grapefruits right off the tree and have our little selves some pure freshness before heading out. I don't think I'd ever get tired of having fruit trees at my disposal... just the beauty of fruit trees themselves are amazing.  I was in ahhh of them every time I saw them.  (God, you do magnificent work and bring so much simple beauty to us!)

After we ate...we shopped.

And then... we shopped some more.

Her parents were so patient with our addiction.  They'd hang with us for awhile... then do their own shopping... and then leave us to come get us later.  (Between two days, we spent E.I.G.H.T. hours in Joann Fabrics.  I should be embarrassed to say that but when you put the two of us together, who love to create anything and everything, the possibilities are endless.  And this wasn't just any Joann's... it was the mac-daddy of Joann's.  Seriously.  Fabric, buttons, scrap stuff, oh my!  And 40% off to top it off!)

After the stores closed, we drop into bed like noodles, exhausted from a hard core day of shopping.  But we didn't fall asleep.  Nope.  We stayed up whispering and giggling into the wee hours of the night, like little girls, until our old girls bodies would take over and we'd fall asleep mid-sentence!

It was hard to come back to winter.  But GOOD to come back to my lil' family!  However, I felt like I left part of myself there - Amy.  (She got to stay a few extra days!)

Thank you God for great friends too!
