NEVER Forget

September 11, 2001

I was pregnant with the peanut, at work making a few copies, when I was told the news.  I will NEVER forget those days.  NEVER.  (I'm sure you won't either.)  I remember being glued to the TV that night (and the next several weeks) as I feared for my unborn's life.  I questioned how I could bring a baby into this crazy world.  I wondered how I would protect him from all of the bad.  This day is a good reminder to change our tune and start relishing in the amazing things we learned from this.  We all became united as a country.  We became even prouder to be an American.  We saw hero's come out of the woodwork.  We prayed harder than we ever have.  It became clear to me that it's up to us, the parents, to raise good and honest children... to teach them right from wrong,... love thy neighbor...to show them LOVE and FAMILY... teach them respect... get involved... make a difference... be proud of our country... vote for the best person to serve our country - not based on race, thank the people that serve... PRAY for good and PEACE... to be the best we can be in all that we do... to stand up for what's right and fight if we have to... NEVER forget this day.

(Miss you George!)

great post. i too remember every detail of the day. its interesting you mention being pregnant and fearing for your baby's life. a few months later while i was pregnant with ryan i felt the same way as i would hear everything on the radio about the war on my way home from work. i love your take on changing your perspective!

Beautiful, Jen! It's amazing how we saw that day as PARENTS, and not as individuals. I was watching the Today show that day, feeding my babies their morning bottles getting ready for their 3-month checkup and all I could think of was them and their future. Anyway, great post, I love it!
