It happened.
On Wednesday, July 8Th... my baby lost one of his top front baby teeth.
I have been dreading this day like no other.
He's going to look so grown up when those big teeth start to come in.
HOWEVER, he's so cute with it gone.
AND... it couldn't have happened a better way.
We were hangin' at the pool the day before when he got bumped in the mouth and the tooth got a bit looser (it had been loose for a good year or more). He thought it was really loose so he tugged on it. And it didn't come out. And it hurt. And bled. And he is not a kid that can take the least amount of pain lightly (that's an understatement!).
The next day we were hangin' by the pool (that's where we've been living this summer) again and he bumped it while he was eating and it was hanging there by a thread. He started crying because he was scared it was going to hurt just like it did the day before. BUT we talked him into letting our friend pull it (I'm a little squeamish when it comes to loose teeth). And with a super quick pull the tooth was out!
And to see him smile and show off afterwards made it all worthwhile. He was doing the happy dance and showing it off to all his buddies.
His cute attitude afterwards made his mommy accept this milestone MUCH easier!
FYI: The Tooth Fairy can still find you and your tooth while camping! (Smart Fairy!)

What a milestone. And you're right. They look so grown up after those permanent teeth take up residence. My baby has the top two permanent teeth coming in on top of his baby teeth. The baby teeth are loose, but not loose enough to pull. So he has FOUR teeth up front! Crazy. And I was a Certified Dental Assistant.
I had such a hard time when my kids lost their front teeth! You are completely correct and he does look SO SO cute!!! Great story!
