That's me.I KNOW my dogs.
I KNOW each bark.
For instance... Jasper. He has the "play with me Toby, play with me pleeeeeeaaaasssseee" begging bark. And while he does that particular bark... he has to cock his head to one side during each bark.
Then there is the "I have to go outside" bark where he waits patiently by the door and reminds you with a bark if you don't get there fast enough.
Let's not forget the "help me jump on the bed" bark. This is where his patience runs thin. When he wants up, he wants up NOW.
He's also got the tattle-tail bark where he barks if someone stole his bone. Usually it's Sam. (Go figure.)
Speaking of Sam... Jasper also has the "you didn't ask my permission to walk by me" bark that he only gives to Sam. (I have that bark too.)
We've also got the "let me in (from outside), it's flippin' cold out here" bark. His patience runs a little thin here too. I don't blame him. Going outside in the dead of winter just to tinkle is not what I think of as fun either.
He's also got the irritated and somewhat jealous bark if I have one of the other puppy's outside with me. Or if he just hears me doing something outside without him by me.... in which case he throws in a little (and super cute) whine too.
And last but not least... we've got the "let's get the other pups hyped up" bark. This is where he just picks a random bark and then the other pups start barking too. He's definitely a leader in this area.
Do you have these dog whisperer talents too or is it just me?
Please say that I'm gifted and that it's just me.
By the way... he's got this many, if not more, mannerisms that I can identify too. I'm tellin' ya... I could have my own show.
:o)

all i can say... cAuuuuute!
What a cutie! My neighbors used to have 2 poms and OMG where they yapping crazy fools! They would literally throw themselves against the chain link fence when we went out to the garage. Guess we were their entertainment!
Your poms are so very sweet. Who could resist that face.
I read your post about spending the day at the water park, and Oh my.....have you hands healed, yet?
WOW!!!! Really though, I'm happy that you had so much fun.
I know exactly what you mean! My pup has different barks for bathroom breaks, I want food or just to say hi. Sometimes I believe it's great training for a baby. Love your blog!
I NEVER thought of the barks being like a baby crying! That's a great way to train yourself!
Smiles to you all!
