We're One of Those Families

I NEVER thought my little family would be one of THOSE families.

I don't believe in it, after all.

I frown upon those who do.

I cringe when I see children doing it in stores.

Or on the soccer field.

ESPECIALLY in church (we NEVER will be that family).

It's fine for THOSE families, but NOT mine.

We, the Gordostyle family, are completely addicted to video games.

With the addition of the Wii system and the Nintendo DS this holiday season...

Um, well let's say, we (ALL) may have a slight addiction problem.

I let it slide over Christmas vacation and splurged with time spent in front of the T.V. or the little screen on the DS.

However, Scott may have to go to DS Anonymous.

SOON.

He did make this comment the other night, while playing Super Mario in bed (how romantic), "Mario. All of this for a girl? Sheesh!"

He (and maybe all of us) are more than a little addicted to Super Mario Bros.

Hence, no blogging this week.

(OK. Seriously I've been SUPER busy with other things this week. That blogging sentence above was a joke. And besides, I'm being sucked into my addiction to the Twilight series again.)

((Hence, the NO blogging.))

(((Book 3 is getting SO VERY GOOD!)))

Anyway... does the Wii count as exercise? Because both the Peanut and I were totally stiff from it on Monday. I wish they had something that my left arm muscles would get use out of (while bowling or playing tennis) so my newly formed muscles on my right arm would match my totally-gone-with-the-wind-non-existent muscles on my left arm.

And might I add just one more thing... the DS works MARVELOUS when you have a non-shopping-kind-of-kid with you and are trying really hard to hit ALL of the after Christmas sales. Although, you may need a leash... because when they are following you and have their nose GLUED to the little screen, they don't pay much attention to following you.

Yep, we're one of them now.

Oh, we are so with you on this! The kids haven't done their DS's all week (haven't had TIME), but the Wii - that's a problem. Totally addictive. And now I've heard all kinds of good things about Wii Fit, so I may have to go buy that with my Christmas $$. Let me know if you figure out a solution to this! :)

If you are on the 3rd Twilight book, I can see why you haven't been blogging! Wait until you get to the 4th :-)

I ALWAYS put my kids DS's in my purse when we go shopping! It makes for a much more enjoyable shopping experience for me! You cannot play Wii without becoming a little bit addicted--it's a blast!

I have to comment - as a new substitute-aide in a preschool - leave the DS at home where it belongs - it doesn't belong in a church or a school - shopping maybe. The DS - don't like it - not going to get one for my children - not yet anyway...

No hate-mail, please!!

Hi, I can't remember how I found your blog ~ but I can totally relate! I am half way through Eclipse also, (started Twilight last Saturday) and we can't get enough of our Wii and DSs...

I enjoy your blog ~ (hiding in the bathroom with a DS has been proven to provide a good 15 minute Parental Time Out)

I haven't hit this phase of life yet with the video games but I have so many friends who are addicted to their Wii! I imagine it would be such a fun family game to play! Have a great weekend! :)

I love Twilight! And I want a Wii. Maybe my hubby will be lucky enough to get one for his birthday. :)

Oh my gosh!

I am the worst one in the house with the DS!!! We got the Nintendogs game and Cooking Mama and will barely let Noodle play with it!

Have fun :)

We have only just entered the world of the DS and now (thanks to generous friends who gave it to us) PlayStation.
My son has not seen the outdoors (much) all Summer holidays!
And I have even let him take the DS to church (bad mothering I know), but sometimes I just can't put up the fight on Sunday mornings.
