What a weekend!
I had a TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD week.
But my weekend turned me around.
Left me rejuvenated.
Feeling LUCKY.
Honored.
And so much more than BLESSED!
Thanks to a much-needed girly day on Saturday. A friend and I headed about an hour away to some of my most favorite shops around... met up with another scrapper and great friend... then headed to another little town for a TERRIFIC lunch full of great conversations... topped with really good desserts! Thanks girly-girls! You ROCK! (It's just what the doctor ordered!) Oh, and... I got some GREAT deals even if they were, "I've-had-such-a-rotten-week-I-deserve-this-stuff kind of deals. " (Wink! Wink!)
Then when I got home, much to my surprise and dismay, Nathan had been invited to a friends for a sleepover. So what do you do when you get handed lemons? Yeah... you go on a date... to the Outback and you eat chili-cheese fries for your MEAL. Oh yes we did. And it was DELICIOUS! And with our two pops... our ticket was TWELVE BUCKS (not including the tip).
Then Scott got up in the wee-oh-too-dark-and-early hours on Sunday and headed out for another day of ice-fishing. My parents called and woke me up at 11:00! They just wanted to wake me up so they could treat me to lunch at my favorite restaurant. Um. They live FIVE HOURS away. They had gotten up early and headed this way to surprise us with their visit. I didn't believe them for a good 15 minutes. First of all... I am a naturally (I like to call it -- ESP, Fortune Teller, etc.) suspicious person and didn't suspect a thing. Second of all... My parents don't just hop in the car and show up. Like NEVER. EVER. And thirdly.... my sister kept this a secret with NO hints whatsoever about this! (And believe me, she has a BIG mouth. HUGE. -- JK!)
Anywho... Nathan was still at a friends, Scott was still fishing... so we did what any other family would do. We hit the mall. And their sales were oh-so-good too. And did I found more "I've-had-such-a-rotten-week-I-deserve-this-stuff kind of deals.
Then we surprised the Peanut, as he got dropped off at the mall, with two of his favorite people sitting right inside the store. :o) It was awesome. And boy was he surprised!
Then to top it off... my parents got a hotel... at the funnest indoor water park anywhere near this area! And I was like a kid. Carefree. Troubles washed away. Smiles galore. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.
And the whole entire day I was reminded about the stuff that matters in life. Like our family being the most wonderful of all. And having fun. And what a smile can do to a bad week. And that I am more than blessed in my life! I'm so lucky!

That is the most wonderful weekend imaginable! I just love it when things work out like that...shopping, yummy food, seeing family, and of COURSE, the cheese fries. :)
