When we bought this house, we thought we would change out the wood work on the upper levels of the house.
And then...
The budget on the rest of the house went WAY OVERBOARD.
So things that don't HAVE to be changed will stay the way they are.
For awhile.
So instead of replacing the woodwork right away... I painted it.

What a difference!
Wow.
And it didn't take long at all.
Or a lot of money.
