Thrifty Finds

Woofta, I survived without my camera. I seriously thought I might not make it! (Nathan's first day of school pics are now on the "Power of Distraction" post below.)

The other day I ran into an antique store to look at something FOR A FRIEND. Seriously. She asked me to go there. I SWEAR. She didn't have to twist my arm very much though because I LOVE this particular antique store! And you'll never guess what... I found something for myself! Surprised? I know, me too. HA! OK... I HAD to get this fan! It's HUGE and so very cool! Get it? Cool?! HA - again! Anyway, I haven't cleaned it yet but I did measure it for your viewing pleasure: 20 inches tall and 17 inches wide. I loooooooooooooovvvvve it! Can you tell?

And then, this morning a friend and I hit an entire neighborhood of garage sales. It was SO much fun! I spent $22. I bought one book for me, four for Nathan (cuz' he needs more - NOT!), this BEAUTIFUL light fixture for $15:
She said it was an antique and has been rewired. ??? It doesn't look antiqueish to me - but whatever!

Then I found this totally ME old typewriter for only 5 bucks! It's in MINT condition and so is the super cute suitcase that it fits into! Every scrap room needs an old typewriter nowa days!
I'm telling ya - everyone has them! And who am I to be a non-follower?!

My last dollar was spent on lunch - a good ol' hotdog, chips, and a bottle of water.

Man I love the "hunt." I guess I'm not so different from my hubby who likes to hunt poor defenseless animals. Um, never mind -- I totally am different than that! Sorry honey - buy hey, opposites attract!
