Hangin' with the ROO's

We tried something new this summer.

We visited Roo Ranch.

Let me tell ya about Roo Ranch.

Well.

Hmmm.

Not all that much to brag about.

I wasn't impressed with their living quarters. It made me sad that the roo's weren't down under, where they belong. The guide said they are like deer are around here -- EVERY WHERE and OVER POPULATED. Can that be true? They are so much cuter than deer. And they carry their babies in pouches for goodness sakes. That's WAY cuter than deer!
The babies are taken away from their mommy's. I know this happens a LOT at zoo type establishments - but do ya have to tell a group of mom's that?

Our “guide” did NOT impress me. She had some very negative things she was telling us about. I think she mentioned dead, dying, and killed a few times to a 6 year-old birthday party. We could've EASILY passed over that part.

They wanted the kiddo's to be quiet and not run around while we waited and waited and then waited some more for their picture to be taken. Um... you do know that they are 6 and under, right?!

The "guide" also mentioned that Addidas soccer cleats are made from kangaroo's. Again, more than I wanted to know. I just might have to research that because that is what my baby wears. AND I don't want him wearing roo's on his toes. Cows but not roo's.
OK... on a more positive note. I got to hold this 6-month-old baby roo. I fell in love INSTANTLY! He was just like a baby - all cuddled in his blanket. He wanted to sleep really bad and kept hiding from the kids. He was precious! And dang it, I can't remember his name... I know, BAD-BAD mommy! I keep thinking it was Rex or Axel. I do remember that I didn't like it and it definitely didn't fit his baby image.
Anyway... chalk another thing off of our "want-to-do-this-summer" wish list. We are glad we went. We experienced something new. (I just had a few issues with it all.)

Speaking of the "wish" list... this summer is flying by! We'll be lucky to get half of our wishes done! BUT we are sure enjoying our time together!!!!

Nathan did break out the ol' slip and slide today. What? I'm glad you asked. No it wasn't warm enough outside. I was just SO SICK of him begging me to do it every single second of every single day! It lasted all of maybe 10 minutes and he was cold. Go figure. I didn't even tell him "I told ya so." Well, I don't think I did anyway. It may have slipped out once or twice, I'm not exactly sure.
