Can YOU handle it?

Ok. Here's the thing. I'm brave when I want to be. But I've been totally scared to show you this picture.

I was BRAVE enough to paint it but not brave enough to show you.

Are you ready?

Can you seriously handle it?

Are you sure?

Are you VERY sure?

Ok, here goes then:

This is my downstairs fireplace. In the daylight it looks like robin egg blue. At nighttime, it kind of looks Mel's 50's Diner-ish.

I stared at it for 3 days straight before I decided.

Decided what?

If I like it.

And as shocked as you all are... I now LOVE it.

It IS the focal point as every fireplace should be. It matches our whimsy-cottage-like basement perfectly.

And remember, it's only paint. It can be changed. And knowing me, it will be some where down the line. But for now, it's staying. And I smile every time I look at it.
