Number 1: It's snowing.
Number 2: The three of us exchanged our Valentine's Day gifts and cards right away. Being the morning person that I'm NOT, I thought we would do it over supper...but the boys had other plans. And let me just say, it left me smiling. I love my family.
Number 3: The 3 stooges (pups) are occupied with Valentine's Day bones...so coffee and computer is MUCH more enjoyable this morning. And, they aren't even fighting over them. YET.
Number 4: Scott gave me a REAL card this morning...not one from a gas station that he picked up LAST minute for my birthday (long story - he got in trouble)...and it was beautiful. I love you honey - and thanks, the card and gift made my day! He also surprised me with a gift card to my favorite store. We weren't exchanging gifts but he was still in the doghouse for my birthday card...He's forgiven.
Number 5: I know that I'm loved.
Number 6: I've got a ton of hearts cut out for our romantic dinner this evening. I'm going to surprise Nathan and hang them from the chandelier.
Number 7: Nathan got to have strawberry milk in bed this morning while cuddled in watching his favorite shows.
Number 8: He also got to have chocolate hearts for breakfast. The kiddo loves chocolate more than me, I swear - Maybe even more than my mom!!!
Number 9: The three of us are staying home tonight...and per request, I'm making Cajun Chicken Linguini...our favorite. I'll be setting the table with our finest, candles aglow, hearts hanging, etc. I can't wait.
Number 10: All of the gifts I needed/wanted to make for school, church, hubby, son, mentor boy, friend, etc. are done. Yahoo.
Number 11: My pictures uploaded really super fast for this post. :o) It's the little things!
Number 12: I got a scrap magazine in the mail yesterday...and I saved it for today. How romantic is that?!
Number 13: Sam just went to the door and whined - maybe I won't clean up any puppy messes ever again.
Number 14: Ok...that's enough...I won't list any more...Are you bored yet?
So, these are nothing fancy (I have a boy that won't let his mom girly things up a bit) but at least I got to do something for his friends and teachers at school that have a little touch of creativeness in it. These are the Valentine's for his friends.
These are the Valentine's for my Wednesday School students:
This is what I made at MOPS for Scott. Each curled up piece of paper has something nice written or something we can do: Like eat at Red Lobster (which is Scott's favorite and my least favorite). Thanking him for letting me stay home with our babies. Ironing a shirt of his choice in the morning before he leaves (remember I'm not a morning person). ETC.
Then I made one for the little peanut. His include: Eating ice cream for breakfast, an extra hour of TV time, going to the bird pet store (he loves that place), drinking strawberry milk in bed, eating a silly supper, sleeping with mom & dad, ETC.
They were REALLY fun to make!
Anyway, here's to LOVE -- whether it is your parents, your kids, or whoever it is.... cherish them today. Make it special. It's SO worth your time!
