My parents called on Friday night to say that they had made an executive decision...either they were coming here for the long weekend or we should come there...so after much debate, Nathan, the pups, and I headed their direction Saturday morning. One of the deciding factors was stopping along the way in Plankinton to see my Grandpa's baby kittens that my mother has been totally freaking out about...she doesn't ever get this excited over kittens so we knew these had to be AWESOME! Anyway, we met them in Plank and searched the entire afternoon for the kittens with the mama cat following us every step of the way and NO KITTENS were to be found. She apparently moved them the night before! UGH! Anyway, it was still nice to be out at the farm again and to see my Grandpa. The pictures above are Saturday before Nathan got sick...he loves to climb this tree in front of my parent's house. I was hoping we could take some fall pictures of him at some beautiful areas in Sioux Falls (it was on my "to-do" list) but that didn't happen!

That evening we went to supper and Nathan started getting sick with diarrhea before we even ate...and it continued the entire time we were there! UGH! Poor kid...he had a terrible tummy ache, started throwing up, and had a fever on and off. It is the weirdest flu...seems like he's over it, and then wham, it hits again. I was scared to drive home with him but we tried it anyway yesterday and thankfully he did AWESOME and didn't get sick at all. However, it all started again this morning! I called the doc and they said that they have been seeing this for the past month -ugh! So, no school for Nathan today - poor kid! The picture above is him sick, sleeping at Grandma's -- look how flushed he is...but oh, so precious!
All in all, it changed my shopping visions for the weekend but it was still so nice to see my parents and to just be home. It was more relaxing and laid back, which was really nice for a change. I still managed to go to the flea market on Sunday - thinking that Nathan was over this (but it started back up late afternoon again). We had a good time there...it's so fun to HUNT for treasures! It's addicting to say the least! Anyway, most of the stuff isn't unpacked yet, but as soon as it's put into place, I'll post pics for sure!
Oh, by the way, my mom talked Nathan into letting me go to Michael's craft store for an hour or so while he was watching a movie (he was attached to my side the entire time we were there so this was a major feat!) and I was able to get two scrap books to look at while laying on the couch with him: "Making Memories: Show & Tell" and "Room to Room." They are awesome! And, they were 50% off! However, those weren't the two that I was in search of so I had to sneak over to a scrap store before heading out of town yesterday and I did get 1 of the 2 which is "The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker"...and I paged through that during the drive home yesterday (shame on me - I was driving!) and it is totally ME! Man, I LOVE scrap related books! Anyway, I think it has me motivated to DIVE into getting my scrap room done - nothing fits the same in this house so it's going to be completely different. I hope it turns out! Oh, the big kahuna of a TV got hung above our fireplace downstairs on Friday night... So, it might work out good to have Nathan on the couch while I attempt reconstructing my scrap room. Wish me luck!

One more thing...before we left yesterday, I had to take a picture of this street sign (it was on my "to-do" list) so I could frame it next to a "G" hanging on the wall. This totally makes me excited! Wow, I truly am a dork! :o)
By the way, we were able to see Grandma Sharon, Aunt Sandy & Uncle Fred, Aunt Cherri and Uncle Chuck, and my cousin Teresa - all at the flea market...and it was so nice to see all of them as well!
