In Love...

In February I bought this cradle at a rummage for 5 bucks. I was so scared to buy the cradle since I was so early in my pregnancy. I never EVER imagined that I would actually make it to 35 weeks. Now here we are awaiting our miraculous bundle and the cradle is finished and waiting for him to arrive.

P.S. He still doesn't have a name but at least he has a bed!

He is the Sweetest!

The past two Sunday's, Nathan has been invited to go somewhere fun with a friend (water slides and the pool). Each time he returns home, he brings me a treat from their concession stand! To know that he is thinking of me while he is with his buddy, makes my heart happy (and my tummy very happy). :o)

Soon To Be...

a mommy of a 4th grader and a baby (10 weeks to go)! The hard part between those two is definitely the fact that Nathan will be in 4th grade. It goes so fast! And as fun as each day has been, I want it to slow down. I am already stressing about how fast the baby will grow! I love this time in our lives with a child that still cares about us, listens well, and is so much fun to be around. Last night as I was lying in bed, I thought that maybe God waited to give us a second child so that I would have kids at home longer. I'm so OK with that!

Week 27.5: Future Wedding Crashers

Scott and I headed to a friends wedding in:

Population 232.

Our friend doesn't live there but they were taken by this old blind school that had just been renovated into a resort in 2010. It's kind of neat because he is an eye doctor and she is a teacher -- put them together and they got married at a blind school. I have to admit, I was leery about staying in such a small town - wondering what kind of place would be there. However, it was full of beauty and character with modern touches. We loved it and had a GREAT time together!

We arrived early enough to check into the hotel and then took off to go asparagus hunting. Yep, you heard me right... asparagus hunting. Scott was on a mission to bring back some fresh green stuff that we love. However, it was wet and muddy so I played photographer from the car. I wish I would have taken more of the resort. I had every intention and then we got busy with the wedding and time flew by faster than I thought it would.

Below: If you look carefully, there is a teepee in the background. You can rent them out for the night. We weren't daring enough. Maybe someday when we have Nathan with us and I'm not pregnant.

Scott and I kept joking that we should become wedding crashers once a month to refresh our marriage. THAT is how much fun we had. :o)

Not worth your time or money!

I can't believe the language in this movie and it's PG. Since when does "Son of a...." and "Go to he**" constitute as a PG movie? Not to mention the world "he**" used NUMEROUS other times. I didn't like the language or the movie.

What is the point of having bad words in a kid's movie? It does nothing for me as an adult except get my blood boiling. Would the movie have been any different if those words were replaced with other words or phrases?

I don't get it.

The Giggles

Oh my stars... I love having this baby move inside of me. I know I keep saying that but it is so amazing... Probably more so because it is still SO VERY hard for me to even fathom that I am even pregnant. (When is this going to sink in? Hopefully before the baby is an adult! Ha!)

Anyway, tonight the baby was kicking up a storm and Nathan happened to be laying right beside me. I pulled up my shirt so he could see my tummy move and he was in awe! He could not get enough either. His face lit up and grew the biggest smile. He talked to the baby and told him who he was and that we were sorry we haven't come up with a name for him yet (although we are trying!). Then he had to go get Scott so he could watch and enjoy the moment with us. We had to show Scott that when I rolled to one side my tummy would turn into a triangle (poky down the middle instead of rounded) and it looked so funny we all laughed, which caused the baby to move even more. Then Nathan asked me to suck in my tummy. I tried it and not one little bit of it moved. It was hilarious. To top it off, watching my tummy shake and move and grove when I laughed made us get the giggles even longer.

It was one of life's best moments so far. :o)

Twenty-Five

Am I really pregnant? I just can't get over that fact! And to think that in 15 weeks (and hopefully not much less) we will have a newborn added to our family. It is unfathomable. I cannot wait to meet this little one... although I love feeling him in my tummy. And, I don't want another premature baby so I will try and be patient!
Monday was my 25-week checkup. The baby's heartbeat was 150 beats per minute and my tummy measured good. At my doctor's appointment they said I might be having gallbladder problems. After a freak-out session and to make a long story short, I am switching docs. We'll see what the new one says.

Tonight I officially finished my first full year of full-time college! That is unfathomable too! I have 11 days off before one of my summer classes starts. That doesn't sound near long enough! I have a list a mile long! Hopefully it will be a welcome change to just be taking one class instead of six. Although this class is shorter and it could be a lot crammed into a short period of time. My second class doesn't start until the end of June.
Next week: 3rd Trimester! (And still no baby name.)

The Best Kid EVER!

We interrupt this all-I-seem-to-blog-about-is-my-pregnancy streak to talk about my 1st true love.

Nathan Christopher.

Man I love this child. Yesterday, he got my lazy-fat-pregnant-big self off the couch to go outside and play catch. After a rotten day yesterday, I cannot even begin to express to you how it turned my day around. We played for almost TWO hours and the time flew by! Supper was pushed back until after 7 and it didn't matter because we had so much fun! Thank goodness he knows what is best because had he not begged for me to go out with him, I would have missed one my best days ever. We had so much fun! (And, I'm sure the neighbors had a lot of fun watching this big prego tummy trying to bend, jump, and run to catch the ball. :o) Let me tell ya... my moves were in slow motion to say the least!)

Sometimes I send myself into a panic attack that no child could ever compare to him. Then I freak that my heart already holds so much love for him that it couldn't possibly hold more for another baby. And then, I wake up and listen to God whispering that your heart actually doubles in capacity to make room for just as much love to go to each additional child He gives you. Thank you for that God!

Thanks Peanut for making the best part of my Monday! No matter how many kids are in our family, you will always have this much love in my heart!
